Abitibi Greenstone Belt and Its Significance to Gold Mining in Canada and the World
The Abitibi Greenstone Belt, where Amex Perron gold mining exploration project is located, has produced greater than 200 million ounces (Moz) of gold since 1901. The total gold content of the belt, including past production and current reserves/resources, exceeds 300 Moz. The belt hosts 21 gold deposits containing more than 3 Moz each (source: Ressource Mines et Industrie Magazine). The Abitibi Greenstone Belt is characterized by multiple deformation zones that host hundreds of gold deposits. Amex Exploration’s Perron project is located on the Chicobi deformation zone. The Abitibi region has produced $12 billion in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity within the gold mining sector since 2013 (source: Natural Resources Canada).
The Canadian Malartic Mine, located in the Abitibi region, is one of the world’s largest gold mines. In 2021, it produced *714,784 oz of gold. In addition, the Abitibi Greenstone Belt host one of the highest grade gold mines in the world, the Macassa Gold Mine, which is owned and operated by Kirkland Lake Mining.

An article by Investing News discusses why the Abitibi Gold Belt, where Amex Exploration has their Perron Gold Project, is highly prospective for gold production. The region spans from Wawa northern Ontario to Chibougamau in Quebec and represents the world’s largest mineral-rich greenstone geological belt. In 2019, both Ontario and Quebec were responsible for over 75% percent of the gold production in Canada. https://investingnews.com/innspired/gold-exploration-abitibi-gold-belt-canada/

Quality Assurance & Quality Control Perron
The quality assurance and quality control protocols include insertion of blank or standard samples every 10 samples on average, in addition to the regular insertion of blank, duplicate, and standard samples accredited by Laboratoire Expert or ALS Canada Ltd. during the analytical process.
- For all analyses targeting gold mineralization, gold values are estimated by fire assay with finish by atomic absorption. Values over 3 ppm Au are reanalyzed by fire assay with finish by gravimetry by Laboratoire Expert Inc, Rouyn-Noranda. Samples containing visible gold mineralization are analyzed by metallic sieve. For additional quality assurance and quality control, all samples were crushed to 90% less than 2 mm prior to pulverization, in order to homogenize samples which may contain coarse gold.
- For analyses targeting VMS mineralization, zinc, copper and silver values are estimated by four acid digestion multi-elements Inductively Coupled Plasma - Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-AES), ME-ICP61 at ALS Canada Ltd. Zinc values over 1%, copper values over 1%, and silver values over 100 g/t are estimated by four acid digestion ICP-AES, OG62. Gold values are estimated by fire assay with atomic absorption finish.
PERRON WEST: Soil samples were collected along lines spaced 200 metres apart with individual samples collected every 100 metres along each line. Samples were submitted to AGAT laboratory in Val d'Or, Quebec for preparation and analysis. The preparation and analytical package selected was Aqua Regia Digest - Metals Package, ICP-OES/ICP-MS finish as described the methodology. The QAQC program consisted of the insertion of blanks (sand) and standards (OREAS 47), for a total of 51, that were regularly
